An injured bald eagle was rescued in California after being found on the ground following a territorial fight with other birds, according to the advocacy group Friends of Bear Valley.
The adult female eagle was first spotted on the ground, where she engaged in a short ground altercation with two subadult eagles.

Cell phone video confirmed she fended them off using her talons but could not fly far.
Rescue and Identity
San Dimas Raptor Rescue, part of the Los Angeles County Parks Foundation, retrieved the injured bird. Initially, they urged caution about the eagle's identity due to online speculation.
However, representatives later told KTLA5 they believe the rescued bird is Jackie, a beloved resident eagle who had been missing from the group's live nest camera for several days.
The Los Angeles County Parks and Recreation Department shared footage of the bedraggled eagle limping in water and receiving medical treatment.

Jackie remains at an unidentified wildlife facility, while her partner Shadow guards their nest alone.
Jackie and Shadow's two chicks, Sandy and Luna, hatched in early April and completed their first flights three weeks ago.
The couple took over the abandoned Big Bear Lake nest in 2016, according to the group's website.
The rescue occurs amid a local dispute over a proposed luxury housing and marina development called Moon Camp, located less than a mile from the nesting site.

Opponents say the development threatens the ecological corridor that supports rare plants, flying squirrels, migrating birds, and the fish Jackie and Shadow need to raise their chicks.
