Serve Robotics is expanding its delivery robot services to new US cities this month through partnerships with Grubhub and DoorDash.

The expansion follows Uber's complete divestment of its stake in the company it spun out over five years ago.

Grubhub will offer Serve's robots at more than 100 participating merchants in Chicago and nearly 200 in Los Angeles.

The service is also launching in Alexandria, Virginia, making food delivery easier for residents.

Deepening DoorDash Ties and New Facilities

Serve is also strengthening its partnership with DoorDash, introducing the robots in Washington, DC, and San Jose, California.

In Miami, Serve has established its first microdepot, where robots will be staged, charged, dispatched, and maintained.

Uber announced earlier this month that it had fully divested its stake in Serve, citing disagreements on deployment strategies.

Serve also previewed Beacon, a countertop device that alerts restaurant staff when a robot arrives for pickup.

Additionally, Serve's next-generation hospital robot, Moxi, is being introduced at three hospitals in Chicago and Los Angeles.

The new Moxi robot can perceive its surroundings up to 15 times faster and has 10 times greater onboard compute power.
