Club Deportivo Macara will face Peru's Alianza Atletico in a pivotal Copa Sudamericana Group A match on May 21, 2026, at Bellavista Stadium in Ambato, Ecuador.
The game could decide Macara's qualification for the next stage of the tournament.
Match Significance and Stakes
Macara currently leads Group A with 11 points if they win, securing direct qualification. Even a draw would give them 9 points, making them mathematically unreachable for Tigre.
A loss would leave them with 8 points but still ahead of America de Cali due to goal difference.
Alianza Atletico, at the bottom of the group, needs a win to avoid further decline.
Their recent domestic victory against ADC Juan Pablo II offers hope, but they face a tough challenge against Macara's home advantage.
