The Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Colorado Avalanche 3-1 in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Ball Arena.

The win extends their series advantage to 2-0.

Colorado goaltender Scott Wedgewood allowed two goals on 24 shots before an empty-net goal sealed the loss.

It marked consecutive regulation defeats for Wedgewood for the first time since early January.

The Avalanche held a 1-0 lead entering the third period but surrendered two goals within 2 minutes and 7 seconds.

Goaltending Matchup

The series features a goaltending duel between Wedgewood and Vegas netminder Carter Hart. Hart has averaged just over 29 shots per game across 758 minutes of postseason play.

Tracking data shows 20 percent of goals against him went under his blocker arm.

Wedgewood holds a 7-2 playoff record this season with a 2.32 goals-against average and a . 911 save percentage.

He has stopped 46 of 51 Vegas shots through the first two games.

Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar may consider using backup Mackenzie Blackwood for Game 3 in Vegas on Sunday if a goaltending change is made.
