Female motorcyclists led the annual Isle of Man TT Legacy Lap on Sunday, May 31, 2026, as part of a global initiative celebrating women in motorsport.

The mass ride-out took place on open roads across the 37.73-mile Mountain Course.

Participants gathered on Glencrutchery Road and the Pit Lane area at the TT Grandstand in Douglas starting at 8:30 a.

m. , according to local reports.

The convoy departed at 9:30 a. m.

following a traditional one-minute 'sound of thunder' tribute.

The event partnered with the Women Riders World Relay (WRWR), a movement established in 2019 that has connected more than 20,000 riders across 102 countries.

The speed-controlled lap grew from the Simon Andrews Lap, which originally commemorated the late rider before expanding to honor the wider TT community.

Ambassador highlights significance

Isle of Man Ambassador Lisa expressed pride in the initiative during an interview reported by local media outlets.

"Women Riders World Relay is incredibly proud to lead the 2026 TT Legacy Lap and to see women riders at the front of such an iconic event," said Lisa.

The ambassador emphasized that the event showcases the core values of the road racing community.

"The TT has always been about passion, community and respect for the Mountain Course and this year's Legacy Lap is a chance to celebrate all of those things together," she said.

She noted that having female motorcyclists at the forefront challenges existing stereotypes within the sport.

"Seeing women at the front of the convoy sends a powerful message that motorcycling is for everyone and reflects WRWR's mission to connect women riders around the world, inspire them to be the best they can be, and challenge perceptions of what women riders can achieve," said Lisa.

The ambassador concluded by highlighting the significance of the moment for the island.

"We are honoured to help lead this special moment on the Isle of Man," she said.

Organisers shared live updates through the TT WhatsApp Infoline service over the weekend, and registration details remained accessible via the official Isle of Man TT Races website.
