The Detroit Tigers extended their winning streak to four games with a 7-3 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Friday night at Comerica Park.

Returning home after an inconsistent road trip, Detroit built on the momentum of their recent sweep against the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Tigers relied on Gleyber Torres and starting pitcher Framber Valdez, while Seattle countered with Bryan Woo.

Seattle opened the scoring in the first inning when Rob Refsnyder singled to bring home J. P.

Crawford, who had led off the game with a single.

Torres responded with a single for Detroit in the bottom of the inning, but the Tigers left him stranded after Kevin McGonigle grounded into a force out.

Valdez bounced back in the second inning by retiring the Mariners in order.

In the bottom half, Riley Greene singled but was later ruled out at first following a successful replay challenge by Seattle on a force out hit by Spencer Torkelson.

Crawford was hit by a pitch in the third inning and later exited the game before the bottom half.

He was doubled up on a ball hit by Julio Rodriguez. In the home half, Torres and McGonigle singled to put runners on the corners.

Dillon Dingler hit into a force out that scored Torres, tying the game before Kerry Carpenter hit a home run to right field, putting Detroit ahead 3-1.

Josh Naylor and Refsnyder started the fourth with consecutive singles for Seattle.

Valdez showed frustration but escaped the jam without allowing a run, while the Tigers went down in order in their half.

Pitching Changes and Late-Game Action

In the fifth, Rodriguez and Randy Arozarena both walked and executed double steals to reach scoring position in steady rain.

Valdez escaped the inning unscathed, and the bottom half ended with a hard collision at first base between McGonigle and Naylor, though McGonigle remained in the game.

Valdez finished his night after five innings, allowing five hits and one run while striking out five on 102 pitches.

Drew Anderson relieved him and threw a perfect sixth inning, aided by a diving catch from Greene.

Dingler singled in the bottom half, but a double play ended the frame.

Colt Emerson hit a solo home run for Seattle in the seventh to cut the deficit to one run.

Rodriguez followed with a double, but the Mariners failed to score further.

In the bottom of the seventh, Colt Keith, Zach McKinstry, and Zack Short hit consecutive singles against Woo, who was then replaced by Eduard Bazardo.

Torres doubled to right field, scoring two runs after Victor Robles misread the play.

Tyler Holton took the mound for Detroit in the eighth and allowed a leadoff double to Naylor, who eventually scored when Carpenter dropped a routine fly ball.

After Cole Young singled, Kyle Finnegan entered in relief to record the final two outs.

In the bottom of the eighth, Greene singled before Torkelson hit a two-run home run off Alex Hoppe to extend Detroit's lead.

Will Vest pitched the ninth inning for the Tigers.

Despite giving up a double to Arozarena and a walk to Naylor with two outs, Vest secured the final out to seal the victory for Detroit.
