Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Bryan Reynolds returned to the starting lineup on Saturday, batting third against the Colorado Rockies.
He missed the previous game due to left groin discomfort.
Reynolds was scratched from Friday's lineup and replaced by rookie Esmerlyn Valdez. The Pirates medical staff listed him as day-to-day.
Despite the injury, Reynolds entered Friday's game as a pinch-hitter in the eighth inning. He delivered a game-tying RBI single, though the Pirates lost 4-3 to the Rockies.
"The leg started bothering me randomly," Reynolds said. "I didn't do anything.
It bothered me running. I felt it was smart not to play the outfield."
Reynolds entered the weekend leading the team with a . 400 on-base percentage and 49 walks.
He also ranked second in RBIs with 47 and held a 24-game safely reached streak.
