Defending champions Kerry have advanced to the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship semifinals after a hard-fought victory over Tyrone in their quarterfinal at Croke Park on Saturday, June 27, 2026.

The Munster champions held a slim two-point lead at halftime, 1-11 to 0-12, thanks to an early scoring burst from forward David Clifford.

Tyrone had taken a three-point lead by the 14th minute, responding to an opening two-pointer from Kerry's Paudie Clifford.

Kerry quickly closed the gap to a single point before David Clifford scored a brilliant goal in the 20th minute, putting his side ahead 1-6 to 0-7.

David Clifford registered 1-3 in that opening 20-minute spell.

In the second half, Tyrone mounted a relentless comeback led by substitute Darren McCurry, who scored 10 points in the second period to keep his team within striking distance.

Kerry's victory remained uncertain until the final moments, when substitute Armin Heinrich scored an insurance goal from an acute angle to seal the win.
