Spain's Pablo Carreno Busta secured his first career victory at the All England Club on Monday after Canada's Denis Shapovalov retired from their Wimbledon first-round match.
Shapovalov withdrew due to a left shoulder injury sustained when he collided with a courtside barrier late in the second-set tiebreak.
At the time of retirement, Carreno Busta led 6-3, 7-6 (7).
According to The Canadian Press, Shapovalov played only one more point after a medical timeout before deciding to stop.
He finished the match with 14 aces and a 53 percent first-serve accuracy rate.

Three other Canadian players are scheduled for first-round singles matches later Monday.
On the men's side, third-seeded Félix Auger-Aliassime of Montreal faces Kazakhstan's Alexander Shevchenko.
In the women's draw, 22nd seed Leylah Fernandez meets Indonesia's Janice Tjen, while qualifier Bianca Andreescu plays China's Zhang Shuai.
