The Vegas Golden Knights have traded defenseman Kaedan Korczak to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for defenseman Parker Wotherspoon.
The deal was announced on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
Pittsburgh will retain 50 percent of Wotherspoon's salary as part of the transaction, according to statements from Vegas General Manager Kelly McCrimmon and Pittsburgh General Manager Kyle Dubas.
Korczak remains under contract through the 2029-30 season with an average annual value of $3.25 million.
Wotherspoon, 28, posted career highs last season with 30 points in 80 games.
He ranked second on the Penguins with a plus-17 rating and led the team with 112 blocked shots.
The British Columbia native has played 188 career NHL games across stints with Pittsburgh, the Boston Bruins, and the New York Islanders.
He also represented Canada at the 2026 IIHF World Championship.
Korczak, 25, recorded 16 points in a career-high 78 games for Vegas last season.
He added three assists during 13 postseason games as the Golden Knights advanced to the Stanley Cup Final.
The former 2019 second-round draft pick has accumulated 37 points and a plus-31 rating over 155 career NHL games during his five-plus seasons within the Vegas organization.
