The Princess of Wales has successfully completed the National Three Peaks Challenge, becoming the first member of the Royal Family to finish the 24-hour hiking endurance feat.

Kensington Palace released photos on July 5, 2026, showing her celebrating with her family at the base of Snowdon.

The grueling expedition required climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England, and Wales—Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon—within a 24-hour window.

The solo trek began on a Saturday evening, with Mountain Rescue providing support along the route to raise funds and awareness for a cancer charity.

Newly released images captured the 44-year-old princess reuniting with the Prince of Wales and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Additional photographs documented the future queen celebrating alongside her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, and her brother, James Middleton.

The published photos showed the family marking the accomplishment, with Kate wearing red shorts, matching socks, a navy polo, and hiking boots.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis accompanied their mother at the finish line wearing jeans, with Charlotte in a navy cardigan and the boys in polo shirts.

An official social media post shared by the family confirmed the completion of the trek and expressed gratitude to the public.

The post included a direct link to support the hospital organization.

"This time last week, completing the National Three Peaks Challenge," stated the caption from the Prince and Princess of Wales.

"A huge thank you to everybody who has supported The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity."

According to the charity's website, the journey aims to highlight holistic care alongside traditional clinical pathways.

The Princess of Wales detailed her personal connection to the cause in an accompanying open letter about the enterprise.

"Cancer doesn't just affect the body. It changes how you think and feel and profoundly affects every aspect of life.

I know this personally, and that the journey through and beyond treatment requires more than medicine alone," wrote Kate, Princess of Wales.

The royal emphasized that individualized, comprehensive support is vital for patients navigating the emotional and physical hurdles of a serious medical diagnosis.

"Every individual is different, and ensuring there is a whole person approach to care enables those living through cancer to manage the deeply personal challenge of diagnosis.

Holistic therapies complement clinical pathways and support patients' ability to maintain their wellbeing, resilience and quality of life during an exceptionally difficult time," she added.

James Middleton also shared a photo embracing his sister, reflecting on a promise made during her previous hospitalization regarding the healing power of nature.

"Two years ago, I told you we'd climb this mountain together," stated James Middleton.

"We talked about climbing mountains while you were in hospital, and about the incredible healing power that nature can have for both the body and the mind.

So it was such an honour to join you for your Three Peaks Challenge for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity."

He expressed deep admiration for her ongoing determination and resilience throughout her recovery journey.

"Seeing how far you've come is nothing short of inspiring.

Your strength, resilience, and determination, all while being the most amazing mother, wife, daughter, and sister, inspire me and so many others every single day," he added.
