The Detroit Pistons traded guard Marcus Sasser to the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, as part of a complex six-team transaction, according to ESPN.
The deal also includes the Milwaukee Bucks, Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Clippers, and Washington Wizards.
Detroit generated a $15 million trade exception while sending a 2028 second-round pick to the Clippers, per the Detroit Free Press.
The Mavericks sent Khris Middleton and a 2033 second-round pick to the Wizards, acquiring Sasser and forward Santi Aldama from the Grizzlies.
Sasser, 25, averaged 5.2 points and 2.0 assists last season for Detroit.
His playing time declined over three years with the Pistons, limited to 38 appearances in the 2025-2026 season due to injuries and roster depth.
The Pistons overhauled their roster after a 60-22 season that ended in the playoff second round.
Basketball operations president Trajan Langdon added guard Isaiah Joe and drafted Ebuka Okorie, clearing Sasser's departure during the final year of his rookie contract.
