Decathlon-CMA CGM rider Paul Seixas has stated he remains focused on the ongoing 2026 Tour de France, despite reports that rival teams are seeking to sign the 19-year-old French cyclist.
He is currently making his debut at the prestigious Grand Tour event.
Seixas holds 10th place in the general classification after five stages.
Visma-Lease a Bike general manager Richard Plugge confirmed interest in signing the young rider, while UAE Team Emirates-XRG, Ineos Grenadiers, Lidl-Trek, and Pinarello Q36.5 have also expressed interest, according to Cyclingnews.
Seixas Downplays Contract Reports
"I haven't seen the contracts yet," Seixas said.
"I still have a good year to do with the team next year, and time to think about what I want to do with my future.
In any case, you can see that within the team I am well-supported."
The rider acknowledged the public attention surrounding his future but downplayed the scale of reported financial offers.
"Honestly, I think with everything that is going on around me, there is obviously a buzz. I can't deny that," he added.
He reiterated that his immediate attention is directed entirely toward his performance on the road.
"But I'm not going to say that there are enormous contracts, as we have seen reported.
For now, I am staying focused on what I am doing in cycling," Seixas stated.
Decathlon-CMA CGM general manager Dominique Serieys expressed confidence in retaining Seixas, whose contract runs through 2027. "We're confident," Serieys said.
"We're focused on helping Paul at the Tour de France and he has a contract for 2027.
Everyone else can say what they want, we will do our thing."
Decathlon's deputy team manager Mathieu Charpentier previously told Le Parisien that securing Seixas to a long-term contract is a strategic priority for the team.
