Actress Ali Larter has relocated her family from Los Angeles to Sun Valley, Idaho, to embrace a simpler, outdoorsy lifestyle and prioritize her children away from Hollywood's demands, according to reports.

The "Landman" star moved during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in 2020 alongside her husband, actor Hayes MacArthur, and their two children, Teddy and Vivienne.

Larter stated that the decision allowed the family to focus entirely on their children after realizing Idaho's schools were open for in-person learning while California facilities remained closed.

The transition marked a significant shift from her glamorous Hollywood image to a rural routine including fly-fishing, river floating, and family barbecues.

Speaking at the Newport Beach TV Festival, Larter detailed how her current summer routine contrasts sharply with her previous life in California.

"We love being with our children," Larter told Fox News. "And it's like we made decisions for the right reasons, [that's] what it felt like.

Putting our kids first."

The family initially planned a temporary stay but chose to remain permanently after experiencing the community and outdoor activities.

"It's just kind of simpler, and the days are really long.

The sun's out till like 10 at night now, so it's been really beautiful to kind of have the kids out of school and enjoy the time with them," Larter added.

Larter noted that living in Los Angeles required balancing numerous industry expectations, such as attending parties and charity events, which conflicted with her desire for a family-focused environment.

"Coming to New York at 13 and having to be on these auditions and being with nefarious men," Larter shared with the New York Times regarding her early modeling career.

"Living in Japan by myself at 17 years old for three months, and then in Italy.

You're vulnerable, and people prey on that, so you've got to get yourself out of those situations."

Her resilience from those early challenges eventually helped her secure the role of Angela Norris in the Paramount+ series "Landman," a character written by Taylor Sheridan.

"Well, it's totally different, so we can't really get our kids to hike anymore. They don't want to do that.

But I can get them to take a bike ride and then do, like, a little cold plunge in the river," Larter explained to Fox News Digital.

The actress recently celebrated the Fourth of July in Idaho with an active mountain getaway, sharing images online.

"We love to barbecue at our house. We love to play with our dogs.

My daughter will probably play some volleyball. We'll go to Leroy's and get an ice cream cone," Larter described regarding family activities.

Larter is currently preparing for the next season of "Landman" while continuing her life in Sun Valley.

Series creator Taylor Sheridan stated regarding her casting: "Ali Larter was essentially out of the business.

She was living up in Sun Valley, Idaho and she put herself on tape and sent it to me (for 'Landman').

I've known Ali since she was 19 years old. She put herself on tape and beat out the world… She's special.

She's amazing. It's so easy to write it for her because she's that.

She's going to say exactly what she thinks. She beat out movie stars.

She beat out movie stars who don't audition… she kicked everyone's a**."

Larter's approach to health and wellness has also shifted as she balances acting commitments with her new rural lifestyle.

"It's shifted in so many ways because I believe in the whole approach to wellness," Larter told People magazine.

"I'm someone who definitely — I go to the gym, I drink a ton of water and celery juice.

I take care of my skin. I love my family."

Larter emphasized that consistency has become the most important aspect of her routine as she begins this new chapter.

"This new chapter is just beginning," Larter concluded in her interview with People.
