Dodge has announced plans to expand the Charger Sixpack lineup with a new performance variant arriving this August.
The model will have more than 550 hp, making it the most powerful Sixpack-powered Charger yet.
However, the mystery model will not feature a Hemi V8. Instead, it will be powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six engine.
This will likely disappoint fans hoping for the return of a supercharged 6.2-liter V8.
The upcoming variant will eclipse the Charger Scat Pack, which produces 550 hp and 531 lb-ft of torque.
The Scat Pack accelerates from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds and runs the quarter-mile in 12.2 seconds.
Charger 60th Anniversary Tour
Dodge is also celebrating the Charger's 60th anniversary with a summer tour.
The tour kicks off today at the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals and continues July 12 at the Route 66 Centennial Parade in Santa Monica.
All eight generations of the Charger will appear at the Petersen Automotive Museum's All-American Cruise-In on July 26.
The tour then moves to Michigan for Roadkill Nights on August 8, followed by the Woodward Dream Cruise on August 15.
The tour wraps up at the Dodge NHRA Great Lakes Nationals Presented by Mopar in mid-September.
Dodge CEO Matt McAlear said the Charger has stood as a symbol of bold design and unapologetic performance for 60 years.
