Las Vegas Aces center A'ja Wilson has addressed the growing conversation that places her among the greatest WNBA players of all time.
During an ESPN interview aired on July 30, 2026, Wilson reflected on her legacy while leading the reigning champions through a dominant season.
The 29-year-old is averaging 26.2 points on 53.7 percent shooting, along with 9.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.6 blocks per game.
Her performance has helped the Aces to a 19-8 record, second in the league standings, as she pursues a fifth MVP award.
When asked about being mentioned in GOAT discussions, Wilson expressed humility and a drive for more. "Crazy, it's crazy.
When people say it, it's truly crazy, because you think about so many people that have been on this list of GOATs, and I just wouldn't imagine my name being on it at this point of my career," she said.
"I still got so much to do. I still have to keep going.
I want more."
Malika Andrews, the interviewer, pressed Wilson on whether she expects to cement that legacy by the end of her career.
Wilson responded, "Probably, knowing me, but then on the other side of me, I'm probably like, 'Uh, am I?
I don't know, though.'"
The three-time Defensive Player of the Year also shared her gratitude for her journey. "I love it.
And then the career and the journey that I've been on, it's been so blessed," Wilson said. "If I'm the GOAT cool, I'm there.
In my eyes, I've been a GOAT since '96, so this is just a part of it."

Reese stressed the importance of capturing the moment. "Baby, you gotta get your pic.
Not everybody gets to meet Barack. That was my first time, too.
I'm getting a picture of everybody. It's important to capture every moment," she added.
Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark also responded to a 70-year-old fan from China who asked if she envisioned playing at that age.
"Oh, just for fun, probably. That's pretty incredible you're still playing basketball at 70 years old.
I don't know if my body will be able to hold up when I'm at age 70," Clark said.
"Maybe water basketball or something like that. It's a little easier on your body."
Wilson's marketability has grown alongside her on-court success.
She ranks second in on-court recognition on the Covers Marketability Index and has appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair and a Wheaties box.
The Aces are set to face the New York Liberty on Thursday.
