A 26-year-old learner motorcyclist in Australia faces serious consequences after allegedly speeding at 106 mph (171 km/h) in a 50 mph zone.
Victoria Police say the rider was spotted on the Princes Highway in Longwarry North around 11:50 a.
m. on August 28.
Officers followed the motorcycle onto Princes Way, where they recorded the speed, which was 91 km/h (57 mph) over the limit.
The rider, from Drouin, was still on a learner's permit, which he had held for only a few months.
The incident ended without a crash, but the rider's motorcycle was impounded for 30 days.
To get the bike back, he must pay AU$1,291 (about US$860), plus any penalties from the expected charges.
The rider is expected to be charged with exceeding the speed limit by 45 km/h (28 mph) or more and dangerous speeding.
