Harrison Mevis converted a 48-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to seal a 19-16 win for the Los Angeles Rams over the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football.
Mevis made four field goals in the game, including a 40-yard kick in the first half that helped Los Angeles build an early 16-0 lead.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford opened the Rams' scoring with a five-yard touchdown pass to tight end Tyler Higbee, set up by a 22-yard completion to wide receiver Davante Adams.
Los Angeles extended drives with a 30-yard run and an 18-yard sideline catch by running back Kyren Williams.
Stafford later found Adams on a 49-yard pass in the fourth quarter to put the Rams in position for Mevis' decisive kick.
Broncos Mount Second-Half Comeback
Denver rallied after Wil Lutz missed a 43-yard field goal attempt early in the second half.
Rookie quarterback Bo Nix cut the deficit to 16-6 with a five-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Pat Bryant, then hit Jaylen Waddle for a successful two-point conversion.
Nix later connected with tight end Nate Adkins on an eight-yard touchdown pass to make it 16-14.
The Broncos tied the game at 16-16 when Nix found Bryant again for a two-point conversion after key completions to Courtland Sutton.
Denver's defense recorded multiple sacks on Stafford, led by defensive end Zach Allen, safety Talanoa Hufanga, and linebacker Nik Bonitto.
Los Angeles answered as linebacker Omar Speights sacked Nix, and defensive end Aaron Donald forced a critical third-down incompletion.
Cornerback Josh Wallace intercepted Nix in the fourth quarter at a pivotal moment to stop Denver's drive and set up the Rams' winning possession.
