Chelsea has made clear that 19-year-old winger Estêvão Willian is not for sale, calling him untouchable despite growing interest from Barcelona.

The Brazilian international remains central to the club's long-term plans at Stamford Bridge.

Speculation increased after Spanish outlet Sport reported that Barcelona sporting director Deco is monitoring Estêvão's situation in London.

The former Palmeiras forward has played only 23 minutes in the Premier League this season, across six appearances totaling 148 minutes.

Manager Xabi Alonso has favored a 3-4-2-1 formation, with Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer preferred in the attacking roles behind the striker.

Alonso and Ancelotti Back the Winger

Addressing reports of player frustration over playing time, Alonso clarified his position on the young winger's role.

"I count 100% on him because of his potential," Alonso said.

Alonso added that private discussions with the player remain internal, noting Estêvão has shown a strong work ethic in training.

Despite limited club minutes, Estêvão remains a key figure for Brazil, featuring in recent friendlies against Australia after recovering from a thigh injury that kept him out of the 2026 World Cup.

Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti stressed that club selection will not affect the winger's national team prospects.

"Estêvão is a very important player for the national team. Sometimes the club's interest is not the national team's interest.

For us, Estêvão, like other young players, is very, very important, and if he doesn't play, doesn't get minutes at his club, I will call him, because we think he is very important for the future, and we will give him the opportunity to improve his development," Ancelotti said.

While on international duty, Estêvão expressed confidence in his mindset and performances.

"We have many high-quality players at Chelsea. I focus on what I can control.

When I get an opportunity, I try to give my best. I think I have taken good advantage of every chance I've had," Estêvão said.

Estêvão signed with Chelsea from Palmeiras and is under contract until 2033, reflecting a broader trend of young Brazilian talents moving directly to English football.
