Apprentice jockey Conor Whiteley has been suspended for 27 days by an independent disciplinary panel following repeated whip rule breaches.
The ruling, reported by Racing Post on October 5, 2026, came after Whiteley's fourth offense within a six-month period.
The 19-year-old rider's latest violation occurred aboard League Of Justice, trained by Gemma Tutty, during a third-place finish at Newcastle on September 5.
Whiteley admitted to breaching Rule (F)45, which prohibits improper or excessive whip use, near the end of his penalty evaluation window.
Suspension Details and Deferred Days
Under the fast-tracked ruling, nine days of the 27-day suspension are deferred for six months or 200 rides.
One day will be allocated to mandatory training.
The standard entry point for such repeated offenses is 28 days, within a penalty range spanning 14 days to four months.
Whiteley will serve his active suspension across three specific blocks: October 7 to 17, October 19 to 24, and October 26.
Panel member James O'Mahony outlined the rationale behind the disciplinary action during the proceedings.
