Edward Bluemel leads the series as Hercule Poirot. Images released by the network show him in the detective's signature suit and moustache.
James Nesbitt was recently pictured on set wearing a period-appropriate top hat and tailored coat for an unannounced role.
Story and Production Details
According to the BBC's official synopsis, the series "chronicles the story of the world's greatest detective – and how he became it."
The narrative explores Poirot's early career as he moves from Belgium to Britain, adapting three early Christie works, including Peril at End House and Lord Edgware Dies.
The description adds that the series is "an intimate study of Hercule Poirot the man and an epic portrait of Britain between the wars."
The production team stated that the series will centre around three of Christie's early stories while introducing Poirot to future friends, allies, and one particular nemesis.
A formal premiere date has not been announced by the broadcaster.
