The Washington Commanders and New York Giants finished in a 27-27 overtime tie at Northwest Stadium, with Jayden Daniels returning from a dislocated left elbow to produce 302 total yards.

Daniels wore a brace on his non-throwing arm and completed 17 of 25 passes for 199 yards, adding 103 rushing yards and two touchdowns on nine carries.

His return followed time out after a Week 2 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

Washington moved ahead 27-13 in the fourth quarter after Daniels scored on runs of 38 and 26 yards.

New York answered as Jameis Winston threw for 326 yards and three touchdowns, including tying scores to Isaiah Likely and Malik Nabers.

Likely finished with 11 catches for 94 yards and two touchdowns, while Nabers had 11 receptions for 121 yards and one touchdown.

The Giants erased the deficit with a 17-yard touchdown from Winston to Nabers with 1:43 remaining.

Overtime Mistakes Leave Both Sides Searching for Answers

Washington coach Dan Quinn addressed the overtime sequence that ended the game after Daniels ran without enough time remaining to set up a final kick.

"The sequencing of that does not fall on (Daniels)," Quinn said.

Quinn said the final decision-making responsibility belonged with him as Washington failed to finish the drive after reaching the Giants 24-yard line with 12 seconds left.

"It's an outside throw or a clock - an out of bounds throw, or a clock. That has to come from me.

I have to put him in that spot," Quinn said.

"I can do that earlier and we can finish the kick earlier. We don't need to gain more yards."

Giants running back Cam Skattebo also committed a key overtime error when Daron Payne forced a fumble with New York in position to attempt a game-ending field goal.

"I've got to hold onto the ball, and make sure that these guys know that when my name is called, that we're going to be OK," Skattebo said.

New York coach John Harbaugh discussed the result after the Giants missed opportunities but avoided a loss.

The Giants entered overtime after recovering from a two-touchdown fourth-quarter deficit.

"It's a heck of a lot better than a loss, but it's not as good as a win," Harbaugh said.

Harbaugh also addressed kicker Dominic Zvada after he missed his third field goal attempt of the game during overtime.

"He'll learn from that," Harbaugh said.

The Giants coach said Zvada faced his first missed attempts after earlier struggles during the game and emphasized the need for improvement.

"He was going to miss at some point, now he's got his first miss - he's got his first three misses," Harbaugh said.

Harbaugh praised Winston's second-half performance after the quarterback helped lead the comeback with changes to the offense.

"I thought he was amazing in the fourth quarter, I thought he was amazing in the second half," Harbaugh said.

Harbaugh added that Winston adjusted after halftime and improved as the Giants changed their approach.

"I thought his ability to come out and change like that, we changed our offense up and tried some different things, he really settled into the things we did offensively.

He was amazing. First half, he wasn't, and he'll be the first to tell you that," Harbaugh said.

The Commanders moved to 1-3-1 after the tie, while the Giants remained 3-1-1.

Washington will visit San Francisco on Monday, Oct. 19, and New York will host New Orleans next Sunday.
