Kyle Larson remains the NASCAR Cup Series points leader after the Bank of America 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Oct.
11, 2026.
Larson finished sixth, won the first stage, and left Charlotte with 2,367 points, 49 ahead of Denny Hamlin.
Chase Briscoe moved closer to title contention by winning his second consecutive race, while Christopher Bell sits third with 2,316 points, 51 behind Larson.
The Charlotte event was the sixth race of 10 in The Chase, according to Racingnews. co.
NASCAR added a competition caution at Lap 35 after rain canceled Saturday practice and qualifying.
The 267-lap race had stages ending at Laps 80, 165, and 267.
Bob Pockrass, a NASCAR insider, explained the early caution after teams lost practice time.
"With no practice and qualifying, competition caution allows for some early changes if a car is way off.
And to check tire wear if green track. Done more in Cup because of the longer first stage," Pockrass said.
The Charlotte result left Larson leading a group of four drivers separated by 65 points or less.
Hamlin remained second, Bell third, and Briscoe fourth in the updated standings.
