Amazon is in negotiations to acquire Israeli-founded artificial intelligence startup Decart in a deal worth about $7 billion, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The potential agreement could be finalized soon if talks continue successfully, according to the report.

Decart was founded in 2023 in Israel and has drawn attention as Amazon expands its AI technology efforts.

The talks follow earlier interest from Nvidia and Anthropic, which also explored acquiring the company in recent months.

Decart has raised more than $400 million from venture capital firms including Sequoia Capital, Benchmark and Radical Ventures, according to the source report.

The startup was valued at nearly $4 billion in May.

The company was founded by Israeli engineers Dean Leitersdorf, Orian Leitersdorf and Moshe Shalev.

Decart develops chip-related software and AI models, including Lucy and Oasis, designed to generate and simulate three-dimensional environments based on the real world.

Amazon's AI chip ambitions

Amazon has developed its Trainium 3 AI chip as it competes with Nvidia in the market for graphics processing units powering artificial intelligence systems, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The Wall Street Journal previously reported that Amazon gave Decart early access to its chip in 2025 after being impressed by the startup's founders.
