Romania should brace for fluctuating temperatures and spells of rain in several regions through November 1, based on a forecast from the National Meteorological Service (ANM) covering October 19 to November 1.

The outlook points to a short midweek warm-up followed by cooler conditions, while mountain areas carry a higher chance of precipitation into the following week.

Daytime readings are set to vary widely by region, with some western areas climbing to 24 to 25 degrees Celsius before a sharp drop.

Overnight lows are also projected to fall toward the end of the period, especially in Transylvania, Maramures and the mountains.

How each region shifts through early November

In Transylvania, average daytime highs should reach 21 degrees Celsius on Wednesday before easing to about 15 degrees two days later.

Temperatures are then expected to rise moderately from the weekend through the middle of the following week, settling near 14 degrees toward November 1.

Nighttime values in Transylvania are forecast to start near 6 degrees Celsius, climb to around 9 degrees toward the end of the week, then decline gradually to approximately 3 degrees.

Rain is anticipated in the first days of the forecast and again between October 22 and 27, with significant amounts possible in several locations.

Banat and Crișana are expected to see a stronger initial rise, with regional average highs increasing from 16 degrees Celsius to 24–25 degrees during the first three days.

Highs should then fall to between 13 and 16 degrees by Friday, fluctuating between 15 and 20 degrees from the weekend through midweek and reaching about 16 degrees toward the end of the following week.

Overnight lows in these regions will range from 6 to 13 degrees during the current week before stabilizing between 6 and 8 degrees from Sunday, with October 21–27 identified as the main period for expected precipitation.

Maramures will also see a midweek reversal, with daytime highs rising from 16 degrees Celsius on Monday to 22 degrees on Wednesday before a marked cooling brings Friday's high to just 13 degrees.

From Saturday through the end of the following week, daytime temperatures there should range between 15 and 19 degrees Celsius.

Average overnight lows are expected to stay near 7 degrees initially, rise to around 10 degrees, then decline to approximately 6 degrees during the following week and 4 degrees toward its end, with rain most likely between October 21 and 27.

Mountain areas are forecast to stay cooler throughout, with daytime temperatures rising from 9 degrees Celsius to 14 degrees during the first three days before falling to 8 degrees on Friday.

Highs should remain between 8 and 12 degrees from the weekend through the end of the following week, and October 28 is projected as the warmest day in the mountain forecast.

Overnight temperatures in the mountains are expected to decline progressively from 6 degrees Celsius to around 1 degree by November 1, with a high probability of precipitation through the following Wednesday.
