Rain or Shine cut a 24-point deficit to four late in the game, but Ginebra held on.
The victory prevented Ginebra from falling into an 0-2 hole in the best-of-seven series, following a 115-111 loss in Game 1 on Wednesday.
Game 3 is scheduled for Sunday at the same venue.

Rain or Shine had aimed for a 2-0 series lead after winning Game 1, their first semifinal opener victory since the 2019 Philippine Cup.
Import Jaylen Johnson posted 40 points and 19 rebounds in that game, with Jhonard Clarito adding 25 points.
