The promotion-relegation play-off ended 0-0 after extra time, forcing the shootout.

Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Sophie Whitehouse was the hero, saving four penalties to guide Charlton to the top tier.
Leicester City will drop down to the WSL2 following the defeat. Charlton joins Birmingham City and Crystal Palace in advancing to the WSL.
Both goalkeepers faced multiple tests late in regulation and extra time. Charlton had a goal disallowed for a narrow offside in the 97th minute.
Whitehouse later denied international teammate Heather Payne from close range after a corner kick in the 107th minute.
Opposition goalkeeper Katie Keane made two saves for Leicester City, but Whitehouse's performance proved decisive.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Whitehouse said the team drew on a preseason fitness challenge called 'the pit' to push through the demanding match.
"Pain is temporary and look what happens," she added.
The goalkeeper noted the team remained highly disciplined throughout a competitive campaign to achieve their ultimate objective.
"Every single game is so important in this league and it's been so competitive," Whitehouse said.
"To be honest it has been one of my hardest seasons because we have been so focused. I haven't been thinking about anything else.

We managed to get it over the line. I just can't believe it," she concluded.
