Kent Spitfires began their Vitality Blast campaign with a 27-run victory over Middlesex at Lord's on May 22, 2026.

Captain Sam Billings led the charge with an unbeaten 84 off 37 deliveries.

Winning the toss, Kent elected to bat first and posted 208 for six in their 20 overs. Middlesex managed 181 for eight in reply.

Tawanda Muyeye set the tone early with a six off his second ball. Daniel Bell-Drummond added a rapid 26 from 12 balls.

Muyeye made 38 off 25 before being caught behind off Luke Hollman.

Billings accelerated the innings, reaching his half-century in 25 balls by ramping Noah Cornwell. He finished unbeaten on 84, including 22 runs in the penultimate over.

Middlesex's chase started strongly through Adam Rossington, who scored 79 off 42 balls on his return to the county.
