The Arizona Diamondbacks secured a 5-4 victory over the Colorado Rockies at Chase Field on Saturday, May 23, 2026, taking their second win in the first three games of the four-game weekend series.

Arizona jumped ahead early with a three-run third inning, highlighted by a Geraldo Perdomo RBI single and a Nolan Arenado RBI double.

Diamondbacks reliever Kevin Ginkel escaped a two-on, no-out jam in the eighth, and closer Paul Sewald pitched a perfect ninth inning to record his 11th save of the season.

The loss dropped the Rockies to 20-32, while the Diamondbacks improved to 27-24.

Lorenzen, Schaeffer Reflect on Pitching Performance

Lorenzen expressed dissatisfaction with his outing, noting a misplaced fastball to Marte. "It was just a fastball," he said.

"He's usually pretty patient. 0-0, trying to go away and missed in the middle."

Rockies manager Warren Schaeffer offered a more defense-oriented assessment. "I thought Mike threw the ball fine.

I thought he gave us a chance to win," Schaeffer said. "Good breaking stuff.
