Sharma, recently declared fully fit after hamstring injuries, reflected on India's achievements from the 2024 World Cup to the ICC Champions Trophy.

He emphasized the goal of making India the powerhouse of world cricket.

“I want India to be the powerhouse of world cricket… that is the bottom line,” said the Mumbai Indians opening batsman.

“What we have achieved in the last three years has been superb. I hope we continue our winning streak.”

The two-time T20 World Cup winner noted how white-ball cricket has evolved, raising scoring expectations significantly. “When we started, 130-140 was considered a good score.

Now, any total doesn’t seem convincing. It shows how aggressively the game has changed,” Sharma said.

He credited the shift to the bold mindset of modern players who avoid conservative strategies.

Sharma also addressed youth development, advising children aged six to eighteen to focus on enjoying the sport without pressure.

“Kids aged six to eighteen should just play and enjoy the sport. That’s how it started for me,” said Sharma.

Before international duties, Sharma is scheduled to play for Mumbai Indians against Rajasthan Royals at Wankhede Stadium.

Despite playing only eight matches this season, he has scored 283 runs at an average of 40.42 and a strike rate of 160.70.
