The new schedule directly affects promoted clubs like Coventry City. Owner Doug King discussed the challenges of securing permanent deals on The Football Boardroom podcast.
King commented on goalkeeper Carl Rushworth, who helped Coventry reach the top flight after a loan from Brighton.
"He couldn't have wished for a better year could he," King said.
Coventry attempted to sign Rushworth permanently. "We did try to buy him, we did recognise his quality," King noted.

However, no purchase option was included in the loan. "I didn't have an option (to make the loan permanent)," King explained.
King and Brighton owner Tony Bloom discussed the situation.
"For me it was more critical to get the goalkeeper than waste my life fighting for an option," King said.
King declined to comment on a possible further loan. "There's nothing that I can add to it at this point," he stated.
Coventry won the Championship title and will use the new window dates to strengthen their squad.
"I'm just very happy that he had a great experience, he got us into the Premier League and everyone's a winner," King said.
Meanwhile, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola had an emotional final day as several veteran players left.
Guardiola said, "I don't cry, but when I see Bernardo cry, I cry," after midfielder Bernardo Silva broke down during a guard of honor.
