Alan Oversby, a 68-year-old experienced motorcycle racer, died following a crash during the Pre-TT Classic races on the Isle of Man on Sunday, May 24, 2026.

The accident occurred during the 400cc race on the Billown Circuit, in the southern part of the island.

Incident Details

Organizers confirmed the fatal incident happened on the second lap as Oversby approached Ballakeighan.

The Southern 100 Road Races stated that Oversby was a veteran of the event, having made his competitive debut on the course in 2005.

He achieved his first victory at the event in 2006 and went on to secure a total of 16 wins at the Pre-TT Classic Road Races.

Notably, Oversby had won two races on Sunday before the fatal crash occurred.

In an official statement, the Southern 100 Road Races expressed regret in confirming Oversby's death and extended deepest sympathy to his wife Julie, his family, team, and friends.

The organization highlighted his long history with the event, noting his debut more than two decades ago and his multi-victory record.
