Former Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant heavily criticized the team's performances against top opponents on social media.
"The board can not be sitting in the directors box watching this absolute garbage, and think and talk amongst themselves, and come to the conclusion that this manager will be challenging for silverware next season!!!

Pennant highlighted the club's poor record of securing only three victories out of 18 matches against the top nine teams.

Slot's Response and Club Support
Amidst the external criticism, Slot addressed reporters regarding the squad's upcoming recruitment strategy and injury returns.
"We brought in a lot of players last season. When they're available again, that will be a change.
Every football club will sign one or two and we will do that. We need everyone available and then our results will be better," Slot replied.
A senior Liverpool club official acknowledged the difficult circumstances surrounding the campaign while maintaining that the performances fell below expectations.
"Were we dealt a difficult hand? 100 per cent.
Should we have played our hand better? Absolutely," said an anonymous senior club official.
The official emphasized that the club leadership remains fully aware of the current competitive reality. "Nobody is under any illusions.
There are mitigating factors but it hasn't been good enough," he added.
During the summer crisis, Slot had offered open communication and professional support to his players to help navigate their personal grief.
"If you can't, if it's too much, there's no pressure on anyone," he told them.
He reiterated his availability alongside the medical and psychological staff at the training complex. "My door is always open.
You've got the doc and the psychologist too. Come and talk to us," Slot stated.
