Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly considering a transfer move for Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo. Manager Roberto De Zerbi has hinted at further squad additions during the summer transfer window.
De Zerbi spoke about the club's progress in a recent update on Thursday. He said, "But the transfer market, it’s not finished for sure."
The Italian manager emphasized that the club continues to pursue top targets. He added, "We have completed 60 per cent of our project in the transfer market.
Now we have another ‘bomba’."
Potential Move and Liverpool's Situation
The potential move comes as Liverpool evaluates its attacking options.
Liverpool is pursuing a deal for Bradley Barcola, which could limit Gakpo's playing time despite his recent three-goal performance at the summer World Cup.
Liverpool has reportedly used Anthony Gordon's £70 million transfer to Barcelona as a pricing benchmark for Gakpo.
With Barcola expected to cost over £100 million, Liverpool may sell Gakpo if a comparable offer arrives, provided they secure a replacement such as Yankuba Minteh.
