French authorities arrested ten people in Paris while stadium security separated fighting fans in Budapest during the Champions League final on Saturday.

The unrest broke out inside the Puskas Arena and near the Parc des Princes stadium during the match between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal.

Stewards intervened during the first half at the Puskas Arena to halt altercations among thousands of traveling Parisian fans.

While the initial cause of the stadium clashes remains unclear, additional street brawls between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain supporters had already occurred in Budapest prior to kick-off.

Simultaneous unrest escalated outside the Parc des Princes in Paris, where the match was broadcast to local fans.

Hundreds of reportedly ticketless supporters attempted to breach the area, prompting law enforcement officers to deploy tear gas and manage crowds throwing bottles at police during arrests.

French Minister of the Interior Laurent Nunez confirmed the scale of the security operation and the subsequent law enforcement response in Paris during the afternoon.

"There were just under 1,600 checks and about ten arrests," said Nunez.

The French outlet Le Figaro also noted that police spotted a group of hooded individuals carrying balaclavas and iron bars.

However, officials stated that this specific group did not engage in any acts of violence.

"There was a brief moment of tension a few minutes ago, with an attempt to force entry into the Parc des Princes stadium...

law enforcement had to intervene," Nunez added.

On the pitch, Arsenal opened the scoring in the sixth minute through a counter-attack goal from Kai Havertz.

Paris Saint-Germain equalized in the second half with an Ousmane Dembele penalty, sending the match into extra time before a penalty shootout.

The defeat leaves Arsenal winless in two Champions League final appearances over a 20-year span, holding a record 226 matches played in the competition without winning the trophy.
