Kaneko in Contention for First Title
Kaneko earned his DP World Tour card after finishing top of the Japan Golf Tour order of merit in 2025.
The 23-year-old previously finished tied for second at the 2026 Soudal Open behind Richard Sterne.
He now stands on the verge of a maiden tour victory.
Popert's Debut and G4D Tour Hiatus
England's Kipp Popert made his first DP World Tour appearance after the Golf for the Disabled (G4D) Tour was postponed.
Popert, who has cerebral palsy affecting his lower body, shot an opening-round 75 followed by a one-under-par 69.
He missed the weekend cut despite recording five birdies in his second round.
The DP World Tour recently suspended the G4D Tour for the foreseeable future but committed to hosting the annual G4D Open and a G4D match at the 2027 Ryder Cup.
Popert expressed frustration regarding the tour's hiatus during a May interview with the BBC.
"I took it quite hard to be honest. It's my livelihood, it's how I've earnt my money for the last five years," said Popert.
He later discussed structural challenges facing disabled golf with the Guardian, emphasizing the need for regular competitive financial opportunities for elite players.
