The Tampa Bay Rays have placed newly acquired relief pitcher Craig Kimbrel on the injured list due to a right wrist strain, the team announced.
The move comes just five days after the 17-year MLB veteran made his successful, scoreless debut for the franchise on May 26.

Roster Moves Announced
Local journalist Marc Topkin of The Tampa Bay Times reported the roster adjustments, which also include the designation for assignment of right-handed pitcher Andrew Wantz and the call-ups of left-handed pitcher Cam Booser and right-handed pitcher Trevor Martin.
Kimbrel, a potential future Hall of Famer, was signed by Tampa Bay after being designated for assignment and released by the New York Mets earlier this season.

In his lone appearance for the Rays, Kimbrel struck out two batters.
The front office now expects him to miss a few weeks while Booser and Martin fill the vacant bullpen spots.
