Newcastle United has secured a €28.5 million agreement with Ligue 2 side Stade de Reims for the transfer of French youth international goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen, as reported by Sports.
The 20-year-old shot-stopper had attracted significant interest across Europe, including from Chelsea FC and Real Madrid.

Jaouen previously visited Chelsea's training facilities, while Real Madrid saw him as a potential long-term successor to Thibaut Courtois.
However, the player has committed to moving to Tyneside, agreeing to a four-year contract with the Premier League club.
Impressive Loan Spell
Jaouen delivered standout performances while on loan at USL Dunkerque during the 2024-2025 season.
His contributions nearly pushed the Ligue 2 side into promotion and guided them to the Coupe de France semi-finals.

Following Dunkerque's relegation from Ligue 1, he returned to his parent club, Reims, last summer.
He established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper for Reims throughout the current campaign, though the team fell short of an immediate return to the top flight.
Goalkeeping Restructuring at St James' Park
Newcastle United actively sought reinforcement in the goalkeeper position ahead of the upcoming season.
The move follows long-serving goalkeeper Nick Pope turning 34 in April.
