Peoria wide receiver Dontay Tyson has committed to the Washington Huskies football program, choosing them over Texas A&M.
The announcement was made on Friday, as reported by Sports.

Tyson is the fourth wide receiver commitment for the 2027 recruiting class under head coach Jedd Fisch.
He joins a group that includes quarterback Blake Roskopf and wide receivers Tre Moore and Braylon Pope.
With Tyson's commitment, Washington now has 17 total commitments in this cycle, including eight blue-chip recruits.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Tyson is ranked as the No. 325 overall player and the No. 42 wide receiver in his class.
Building a Strong Receiver Corps
Since establishing their first full recruiting class in 2025, coach Fisch and wide receivers coach Kevin Cummings have secured commitments from 13 wide receivers.

The current roster features ten scholarship receivers who maintain eligibility through the 2027 season.
Tyson brings a versatile 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame, allowing him to potentially play all three receiver positions.
He previously qualified for the Arizona state track meet in both the 100 and 200 meters as a high school freshman.
"The most important thing is getting developed," Tyson said.
The Washington coaching staff has shown early player utilization, burning redshirts for freshmen wide receivers during the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

Coach Cummings also mentored future first-round NFL draft pick Tetairoa McMillan during his time at Arizona.
