For Scotland, this ends a 28-year absence from the World Cup. The team previously exited Euro 2024 at the group stage.

Manager Steve Clarke's side faces a tough group with Morocco and reigning champions Brazil. A win against Haiti is seen as crucial for progression.

Haiti is making its first World Cup appearance since 1974.

The team qualified thanks to the tournament's expansion and the absence of co-hosts Canada, Mexico, and the United States from Concacaf qualifying.

Scotland enters as the favorite, sitting 41 places above Haiti in the FIFA rankings. They recently won pre-tournament friendlies against Curaçao and Bolivia.

Haiti, meanwhile, has suffered recent defeats to the United States, Honduras, Tunisia, and Peru over the past year.

Napoli midfielder Scott McTominay is expected to play for Scotland after returning to training Friday following an illness.

However, teammate Billy Gilmour will miss the tournament due to an injury sustained against Curaçao.

Haiti's squad includes 38-year-old captain and goalkeeper Johny Placide, along with striker Frantzdy Pierrot, who has scored 34 goals in 51 international appearances.

In the United States, the match will be available on FOX Network, fuboTV, Telemundo, Telemundo Deportes En Vivo, and FOX One.
