Audi has revived the A6 Allroad four years after discontinuing it, now featuring an RS6-style widebody and a plug-in hybrid option for the first time.

The high-riding wagon positions itself as a leaner, more muscular alternative to premium SUVs like the Q5 and Q7, combining off-road ability with a distinctive design.

Widebody Design and Rugged Touches

The wide fenders are the visual highlight, a feature previously reserved for the hotter RS6. Audi pairs them with Allroad-specific elements that lean toward ruggedness rather than sport.

The front bumper gains a honeycomb grille and gloss-black inserts around the side intakes.

Discreet cladding wraps the flared arches and side skirts, while the rear bumper includes faux vents and a skid plate that doubles as a diffuser.

Buyers can opt for matte silver chrome trim instead of black, along with aluminum roof rails and chrome-plated tailpipes.

Chassis and Suspension Upgrades

The Allroad sits 34 mm (1.3 inches) taller than a standard A6 in normal mode.

The active air suspension offers 55 mm (2.2 inches) of travel, with the highest setting adding another 15 mm (0.6 inches).

A softer Comfort mode handles everyday driving, while Dynamic mode lowers the body by 20 mm (0.8 inches) for greater precision.

Above 75 mph, every mode drops the Allroad by 20 mm to improve efficiency.

All-wheel steering turns the rear wheels up to 5 degrees against the fronts at low speed, reducing the turning circle by up to a meter (3.3 feet).

At higher speeds, they turn up to 2 degrees in the same direction for added stability.

Powertrain and Availability

The new A6 Allroad comes with a familiar V6 turbodiesel and a new plug-in hybrid option.

Ordering opens in European markets on June 18, with first deliveries expected this fall.

In Germany, pricing starts at €77,250 ($89,600) for the V6 TDI and €80,250 ($93,100) for the e-hybrid.

US availability has not been confirmed, though previous Allroad generations were sold there.

Currently, only the A6 sedan is offered in the US, so the Allroad could give Americans a wagon option before the RS6 arrives.
