Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is preparing to return to Old Trafford after Barcelona allowed a June 15 deadline to sign him permanently for €30 million to expire without action.
The England international moved to Spain on loan after falling out of favor under former manager Ruben Amorim, who relegated him to the training squad and reallocated his jersey number.

Rashford helped Barcelona secure the La Liga title last month, but a permanent stay looks unlikely after the Spanish club signed Anthony Gordon and Rashford cleared Barcelona references from his social media profiles.
Carrick Open to Reintegration
Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has reportedly maintained communication with the 28-year-old winger and checked with first-team leaders regarding a squad reintegration.
Rashford remains under a contract valued at £325,000 per week that runs through June 2028, making financial terms difficult for many prospective buyers while United refuses to negotiate another loan deal.
Former Manchester United midfielder Nicky Butt shared insights on the situation, noting that Carrick's management style remains supportive of returning players during pre-season preparations.
"He might be forced back to United, at least for the pre-season. Knowing Michael Carrick, he will be receptive to any player coming into training and pre-season.
He won't just f*** people off, he's not that kind of person," Butt said.
Butt recounted his personal history of overcoming fan hostility when returning to Newcastle United from a loan spell at Birmingham in 2005 to demonstrate how player dedication can change club dynamics.
