Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti faced a wave of fan backlash on social media platform X during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The criticism stemmed from his reluctance to give playing time to teenage forward Endrick.

He made 37 appearances but accumulated only 847 minutes, averaging under 23 minutes per game.
The forward did not start a single La Liga match and scored just once in the league.
However, he secured five goals in the Copa del Rey before a productive loan spell at Lyon, where he netted eight goals and provided eight assists in 21 games.
Ancelotti defended his tactical decisions during the tournament. He explained that replacing Thiago with Matheus Cunha offered different qualities on the pitch.

"I'll bring Endrick on at the right moment," said Ancelotti ahead of the match against Haiti.
The manager emphasized that the young striker remains a long-term prospect for the national team.

The veteran coach also praised the player's psychological approach and support system. "He is patient, he's in no rush, and he's very mature for his age," said Ancelotti.
