According to a report by hitc. com, Aaronson received special permission to leave the national team training camp for the ceremony.
The initial plan was for a larger celebration, but the official call-up to the US squad for the summer World Cup changed those arrangements.

Milana D’Ambra Aaronson has a deep background in soccer. She is the daughter of Don D'Ambra, the men's soccer head coach at Saint Joseph’s University.

She previously played collegiate soccer for Temple University and competed for SJEB Rush, where she won a State Cup title before injuries ended her athletic career.
