Men's Squad Prepares for Nations Championship

The men's squad is preparing for its inaugural Nations Championship opener against Fiji on July 4.

Assistant coach Steve Tandy emphasized the importance of the match for a squad missing 13 players due to club commitments outside World Rugby's official window.

"We are treating it as a Test match and the training week has been no different in the mindset and intensity," Tandy said.

Four uncapped players have been introduced to the men's squad.

The fixture allows returning players like lock Teddy Williams to regain fitness, while Blair Murray gets an opportunity at full-back ahead of summer away Tests in Argentina and South Africa.

"I am happy with the group and the potential that we have, but we want to get better and we have to go faster in what we are doing," Tandy said.

Wales aims to build on their recent Six Nations victory against Italy, which concluded a challenging period of just three wins across 19 combined international fixtures for both senior teams.
