Christopher Larkin and Toby Stephens, the two sons of the late Dame Maggie Smith, have established themselves as accomplished actors in their own right.
Smith, who passed away in 2024 at age 89, shared her sons with first husband Robert Stephens, whom she married from 1967 to 1975.

Robert Stephens died in 1995.
Larkin, the elder son, chose to drop "Stephens" from his professional name to avoid direct association with his prominent father.
He explained to The Times in 2013 that while some actors get breaks due to family connections, sustaining a career requires genuine talent.
His television credits include recurring roles in BBC medical dramas and fantasy series, notably playing Richard Brown in Outlander from 2020 to 2023.
He also appeared in Doctor Who, Holby City, Casualty, and Doctors.

He later starred as Captain Flint in Black Sails from 2014 to 2017 and led the Netflix series Lost in Space from 2018 to 2021.
He recently appeared in ITV's A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story.
Toby noted that his parents did not push him toward acting, instead ensuring it was his genuine passion.
