Actress Courteney Cox and Snow Patrol musician Johnny McDaid have ended their 13-year relationship. The couple reportedly separated in late 2025 due to long-distance challenges and conflicting schedules.
They had divided their time between the United States and the United Kingdom since they began dating in 2013.

According to reports from the Mail on Sunday, Daily Star, and Metro, the split was mutual and peaceful.
The pair were introduced by singer Ed Sheeran. They had previously been engaged before temporarily separating in 2015 and reuniting the following year.
An anonymous acquaintance confirmed to the Mail on Sunday that the two continue to hold each other in high regard despite choosing to pursue separate paths.
“Johnny speaks incredibly highly of Courteney. They had a very deep relationship and they remain extremely amicable.
They are great friends and care about each other very much. This was not an ugly split.
They had simply reached a point where they were living different lives,” said a friend of the couple.
While McDaid has reportedly entered the early stages of a new relationship, Cox remains single. She was recently seen in New York with a colleague.

Cox previously shared insights into their past relationship dynamics during an appearance on the Minnie Questions podcast.
Reflecting on their 2015 breakup, she said: “I didn’t know it was coming…. We were engaged and I was so shocked.
I was in so much pain.”
She added that the initial separation allowed them to reconfigure their dynamic before reuniting in 2016.
“I’m so thankful for that breakup because when we got back together it was a different relationship, but also because it really taught me how I operated in the world — what were the things from my childhood that I needed,” Cox said.
Prior to her relationship with McDaid, Cox was married to actor David Arquette, with whom she shares a daughter.

Representatives for Cox and McDaid have been contacted for official comments regarding the separation.
