The announcement came after Chamola received an "expose card" during an introductory task.
She shared the personal truth on national television in front of hosts Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan.
Chamola and Khanna married in 2016. They had previously denied rumors about marital issues before making the separation public.
Chamola described the decision as amicable and mutual. "This is a decision we have both taken.
We have been talking about it for the past one year," she said.
The actress noted that the couple still communicates and attends events together. This led fans to believe they might reconcile.

However, Chamola clarified that the romantic connection has ended.
"There is nothing bad between Gaurav and me.
We still talk to each other, but we feel that we are not right for each other as partners," she explained.
The strain developed over time, prompting advice from both families. "Gaurav’s parents and my parents told us to stay separately for some time," Chamola said.
The separation period began during Khanna's stint on Bigg Boss 19. Chamola confirmed that the relationship shifted during that time, leading them to seek space.
Chamola emphasized there is no animosity. "It was a mutual decision.
