Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have accepted an invitation from King Charles III to stay at a royal residence during their upcoming visit to England, scheduled from July 7 to July 11, 2026.

The trip marks the couple's first joint return to the United Kingdom in four years, according to a representative for the Sussexes.

Travel Plans and Security Concerns

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will divide their stay between private accommodations and official royal residences.

Their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, will accompany them but will not participate in public appearances.

The upcoming journey is the first time the couple has traveled together to the UK since September 2022, when they attended the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

Sussex representatives declined to comment on potential meetings with King Charles III or other royal family members. Buckingham Palace has not responded to requests for comment.

Security arrangements remain unconfirmed following a May 2025 court ruling where Prince Harry lost an appeal regarding his family's entitlement to taxpayer-funded security in Britain.

Harry previously stated that safety concerns over the lack of official security protection had prevented him from bringing his family back since stepping back from senior royal duties in 2020.

The couple's representatives said the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures has not conducted a risk management board for the visit, despite receiving six months of notice.

"According to RAVEC's own Terms of Reference, and in accordance with good governance, an RMB should be conducted annually at a minimum; the Duke's last RMB was nearly seven years ago," Sussex representatives said in a news release.

The Duke and Duchess permanently relocated to California in 2020 and officially surrendered their royal patronages and honorary military appointments in February 2021.
