Christensen noted that his family moved to the city when he was 12 before he played for the local junior squad.
"I have a lot of fond memories from everywhere I played, but B. C.
will always hold my heart because I was from Vancouver and played in the Okanagan," said Christensen.
Christensen highlighted that the community festival and the upcoming games would serve as a major reunion for his own relatives and former sporting peers.
"I am looking forward to it. A lot of family, friends and even former teammates will be here," said Christensen.
